MCE always asks for other PC's password after a boot

I have 2 PCs on my home network. One is my MCE and is wireless and my main PC that holds all of my music has a login password. Whenever I try to access music or install exe's held on the main pc I get a password request on MCE screen.

I understand this is request is fair enough but is there anyway to have MCE retain the password ?

If MCE is rebooted I have to enter the password again to access music etc. but I want to avoid that without removing main pc's password.
Thanks.

Re: MCE always asks for other PC's password after a boot

Vista or MCE2005? MCE2005 has the ability to store network passwords under the user account (as it's XP Pro).

The easiest way is to have an account on your other machine that has the same credentials as your MCE. If your MCE doessn't have a password, then create one and then go to the run box and enter control userpasswords2. From there you can remove the requirement to enter a password when you apply that you can enter the password you created the PC will always log on with that.

Re: MCE always asks for other PC's password after a boot

Thx Justin.
Sorry too, XP MCE. I forget about the 'other' brother sometimes.
Hmmm, as it turns out I already had a password on MCE ( I have to use that to get
Remote Desktop to function) but I must have told it in MCE setup to automatically log in.

Anyway, I'm still a little confused with the process.
At present :
PC1 has password A
XPMCE has password B (auto login)
Incidentily both have the same user account name.

Where do I go from there ?
Thanks

EDIT-------------------------------
Well, I set the MCE password to the same as my other PC and now MCE accesses it without password request.
Eeeexxxxellent
Thanks again.
