Belkin N1 Router problem

I am running utorrent and have tcpip.sys patched for 50 connections, but since I have got Bekin N1 router it it blocking access to the shares on my server, so I cannot connect from MCE, unless I shut utorrent down.
Has anyone had this problem?
I am going to upgrade the firmware on N1 tomorrow as today is somehow bad day for me. Everything I have tried at work, got broken So tomorrow is another day.

I can't relate to this problem directly but I too purchased the Belkin N1 wireless vision and I have been having problems with it...

-It can't seem to handle multiple connections ie: I have 2 laptops and 2 desktops and when I start surfing on one, the other will drop out. This is not a common ocurrence but it happens enough to be annoying

Solution...I haven't found one yet but I have spoken with Belkin Australia and they're building a Beta firmware for the N1 very shortly. The guy at Belkin send he would send it to me as soon as its built. We'll see...

I recommend at least updating the firmware that is available in the meantime...

Shall do...It's a nice looking router and I enjoy seeing my up and download speeds on the LCD screen but I find the buttons a bit cumbersome when navigating and performance lacking for the reasons I've just listed. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

I'll put a response in this thread if and when I hear something...

I use a Dlink DIR-655... my first D-Link router since the very dodgy DSL-604T, and it's actually a very good router. I'd recommend it.

D-Link is another good brand...My Linksys router is a WRT54G2. It's a simple router but it's compatible with my HP mediasmart server which asks for port forwarding and UPnP. My Belkin routers also supported these basic features but failed to properly deliver them. In the drawer they go for a very rainy day

Re: Belkin N1 Router problem

The WRT54G's are great routers, if you install DD-WRT on them.... can't get the really good ones anymore though (the ones with 32mb flash).

Re: Belkin N1 Router problem

Belkin N1 is a croc, like a linux it is running
After several firmware upgrades I don't have the original problem, but wireless gets stuffed 3-4 times a week, so you need to restart it.

I am waiting for Linksys on Netgear to get out ADSL2+ and Gigabit and Wireless N all in one.
Then I will sell this N1

ok, you've sparked my interest. What is DD-WRT? This is a new router so I haven't explored too much yet

I had the same problem with my N1 VLAD. Multiple emails to Belkin support wasn't going anywhere at all. My linksys costed me $69 from CPL where as the N1 costed a lot more and it didn't do what I needed.
