Question One for the networking gurus

I have a dynamic dns account that I originally set up so I could access webguide4 via the net. Let's say the URL is myname.hostname.com.

It worked well. I set webguide to port 80 and if I browsed to myname.hostname.com I would get the webguide login page. I have since added WHS to my network, and now if I browse to myname.hostname.com I get the WHS login. Obviously both units use port 80 for http, and WHS trumps webguide.

Now my dynamic dns host allows wildcards, so I could use www.myname.hostname.com if I wanted. What I would like to do is set it up so if I go to guide.myname.hostname.com I was directed to the HTPC running webguide, and if I go to server.myname.hostname.com I was directed to the WHS box. I know I can just move the http port for webguide, but I think addressing them by URL is more elegant and I am interested to learn how to do this, if it is possible.

So, is it possible to set things up in this manner and if so how? Any gurus out there who can advise?

Re: One for the networking gurus

I am using Dyndns and it supports webhops redirection.

Combination of this and port forwarding on your router will give you desired result.
