XBOX Live connection unavailable?????

HI there guys

I am trying to recover my gamertag and everytime I get the signup ..... is unavailable, please try later.

What gives.

I have setup my router correctly (I think)
If I do a Live test under network settings, I pass all the tests.
My NAT access is OPEN (not strict or moderate)
I created a gamertag on the US website. I can log in to profile from the net.
I have a Windows ID. I can also log onto that account so it is valid.

What else am I missing.

thats very odd, it doesnt look like your doing anything wrong at all. does your ISP support Xbox Live?

You need to check with sites like:

http://www.majornelson.com/default.aspx
http://www.xboxlivepipeline.com/
http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/

They let you know when updates are being done to the Xbox live site and this may have effected your ability to log on. It doesn't happen often but being in the know makes it less annoying.

Hey guys

I have discovered that it has to do with the South African accounts. I created a new gamertag with the UK as a location and it works. Pitty, cos now I can't use my original gamertag.
