Sorry Malte. Not quite sure how I missed that. I do read and/or answer hundreds of posts a day though so something was bound to slip through eventually.

I'm surprised it didn't work. Very frustrating not having a machine here on which to test...

I noticed in your log file that you had this information:

Fri Dec 30 15:01:11 2005 : ( READ INI) Read C:\WINDOWS\Hibernator.ini.
Fri Dec 30 15:01:11 2005 : ( NETSCAN) Found Adapter : Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet
Fri Dec 30 15:01:11 2005 : ( NETSCAN) Found Adapter : Intel[R] PRO_Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
Fri Dec 30 15:01:11 2005 : ( NETSCAN) Found Adapter : MS TCP Loopback interface
Fri Dec 30 15:01:42 2005 : ( COUNTRY) Found Country Code : 009.
Fri Dec 30 15:01:42 2005 : (ADD COUNTER) Adding counter : Processor::% Processor Time::_Total.
Fri Dec 30 15:02:14 2005 : ( PERFMON) Failed connecting to PC03434 to Add Processor,% Processor Time,_Total information : .
Fri Dec 30 15:02:14 2005 : ( STARTUP) C:\WINDOWS\HIBERN~1.SCR Started.
Fri Dec 30 15:02:14 2005 : ( READ INI) Read C:\WINDOWS\Hibernator.ini.
Fri Dec 30 15:02:14 2005 : ( COMPLETED) C:\WINDOWS\HIBERN~1.SCR Completed.

It's found country code 009 which is US English. Have you added that key in your registry?

There should only be one in there (007) for you I believe?

I modded the code to take the last numeric value in the perlfib reg as the country code to use for the counter name lookup, assuming that there would only ever be one country code on the machine.

If you have added 009 can I ask you to delete it and try again with just 007 in there?

Somehow we'll nail this. Thanks as always for the feedback.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Greetings, Theo.

P.S. I didn't try the new version yet as my system isn't having any problems anymore with standby since i've removed the wlan-adapter. But i'll make an image tonight and try your software on the system.
Theo,

Thanks for the info. I haven't had a chance to read it properly yet (bit of a hangover today). But I'll look into it.. Problem is that I'm not using any windows development tools to write these apps. No .net, no C#.. Not a Windows IDE in sight on my machine so sometimes it takes me a bit to figure out how "MS" think...

Let me know how it went on yout machine

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: Hibernator Localisation. Help me localise to your region!

Hello Arkay,

I'm having some troubles with your Hibernator, I'm in holland and can't get hibernator to work. I can't see any numbers in the current and average sections. And if I click profile that doesn't seem to work either. I also tries the 2.1b version and tried Theo's tips, but that doesn't work either. Can you help my out any further ??

Re: Hibernator Localisation. Help me localise to your region!

Hi tokidlx,

I'd love to help out. Getting this localisation stuff is proving to be difficult.

You log indicates that you may have made some changes in your registry.

Can you please check if the following key really does exist on your machine:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib\013\Counter

Thanks.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Thanks for your help,

Key exists, same as the help key in the reg, but no improvement.

Re: Hibernator Localisation. Help me localise to your region!

Could you export the whole of this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib

and send it to me (either attach here or PM me for emails address).

Maybe I can install your reg onto my machine and see if I can get it to work that way.

Thanks.

Either that or I may have to install a machine at home with a Dutch or German install. Anyone know if the disks are different in those regions or is it enough to just choose that region on install with the MCE disks?

Cheers,
Arkay.

Hi Arkay,

I've zipped the regkley, but it's too large for the forum. Could you mail me your email adress?

Cheers

Re: Hibernator Localisation. Help me localise to your region!

Hi Arkay,

First of all, i'm sorry that i still haven't tested your latest version.

Discs for Holland are different from US English version.
Activation code for US English version will not work on a dutch version of MCE either.

You could also use a foreign version of Windows XP.
Counters from XP are the same as MCE.

Every non US English version of Windows XP will have 2 country codes.
009 for US English and the foreign country code.

Maybe your software should test if there are 1 or 2 country codes residing in the registry and then use the country code which is different from 009.

Greetings, Theo.

Re: Hibernator Localisation. Help me localise to your region!

That's exactly what I'm doing. I got the index number from the 009 entires and use that number to index into the country specific info to get the counter names. It's getting the counter names properly but for some reason the metrics that come back are always wrong. CPU in increments of 10 getting up to 100% utilised when idle. Strange disk metrics and net seems to produce nothing at all yet everything looks perfect in the initialisation.

Can you send me a PM with your email address and I mail you a current version with more debugging output to try (if you don't mind).

Thanks.

Cheers,
Arkay.
