"The Hibernator" Version 2 Released.

Hi Everyone,

Took me a few days after getting back from holidays but I'm happy to say that "The Hibernator" version 2 is now available.

I've done a fair bit of work on the sleep detection and have now included monitoring of Disk, Network and CPU utilisation in order to make very accurate decisions regarding when the machine is idle.

I've tested pretty well but welcome any feedback.

The documentation has been updated including full descriptions of new features etc. Please find the updated documentation and download link in this thread.

Please post any feedback regarding the new version in this thread so I can maintain just the one support thread. Thanks

If your machine won't go to sleep (or wakeup properly), I suggest you try it out soon and get off that "new hardware, new driver = $$$ out of pocket" roundabout that I've been on for way too long!

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Arkay.

Good on ya mate - looks like we were all up late this evening tinkering with our MCE boxes...

Just congrats on the birth of v2 - I have been waiting for the new version that monitors hdd and other things - so I can use it on my file server that seems to stay awake after watching a DVD...

Good on ya !!! Congrats - Im off to sleep, but will be checking out ya baby in the morning!

Re: "The Hibernator" Version 2 Released.

Was thinking of you when I released it. Should do exacly what you need in terms of fileserver snoozing.

Let me know how it works.

If you're not interested in CPU monitoring just set the threshold to 100%, then it will only be disk and network that it's basing decisions on.

It seems to work really well using disk and network. Both go from nothing to through the roof when in use (in terms of metrics).

Cheers,
Arkay.
