Missing Screensaver in Hibernator

Hey Arkay, all,

Ive been using Hibernator for quite some time with no issues, great program. Ive installed Hibernator on a new machine recently and its just never worked right...

I setup Hibernator with the Windows XP screensaver selected, but the screensaver never comes up correctly - it just shows a black screen???

Also, Ive profiled the performance with only the desktop running. Ive left the HTPC on when I go to bed hoping that it will turn off when the programs im taping finish, but i come out in the morning to find it still on. Should I profile the HTPC with media centre still running?

Re: Missing Screensaver in Hibernator

Nailz,

Sounds like something is wrong. There have been a few instances where the screensaver subsystem was screwed up for one reason or another. Only fix was a reinstall of the OS from memory for those that had the issue.

Only thing I can suggest it to remove it, check that the windows screensavers are working with it gone, then re-install it. Profiling should only be done with the MCE interface off. Preferably about 3 minutes after a clean reboot. The disk threshold gets set by default a little too high as well. I'd lower it.

You can always test it and post up some output from the log file in c:\windows\hibernator.log and I can see if I can work out what the issue is.

Cheers,

Arkay.
