Can't Get Channel 9 HD after installing FreeXMLTV

I have installed the latest BRP and FreeXMLTV and although they are working nicely a strange thing has happened - I can no longer find Channel 9 HD when scanning in MCE and I have abount 10 different versions of Channel 10.

FYI - prior to installing the updated FreeXMLTV I had no problem finding any of the channels. I am using a Winfast DTV1000T with the latest and greatest drivers. The Winfast TV app has no problems viewing Channel 9 HD so it is not a reception problem.

I have "Scanned for more channels" maybe 20 times without result. So, I have 2 questions:

Is there a way to manually set the channels without scanning them?

Why would adding the new FreeXMLTV affect my ability to scan for channels?

Re: Can't Get Channel 9 HD after installing FreeXMLTV

Adding FreeXMLTV has no impact upon tuning of channels. Many users do find that after installing BRP that it is somewhat problematic to tune channels. Freexmltv has no interface into anything with MCE, however BRP does change some registries and therefore has a light footprint into MCE.
Solution - hmmm.... I have experienced the problem, but after a couple of scans through setup I got it all together again.... I find that deleting all the channels and doing a new scan the best solution...

BRP does nothing to MCE with regards to how it scans channels.

(edited to be peaceful!)

Re: Can't Get Channel 9 HD after installing FreeXMLTV

Thanks Impact and ExtremePC.

Unfortunately neither of your answers helps solve my issue. I had no problem at all with Channel 9 HD until I upgraded to BRP 3 and FreeXMLTV 3.1

Now I cannot scan to Channel 9 HD at all - I have tried many many times.

I am not looking to blame either BRP or FreeXMLTV - all I am looking for is a way to be able to watch Channel 9 HD!

Thanks again.

Dave

Have you tried removing all the channels first then scanning again?

Re: Can't Get Channel 9 HD after installing FreeXMLTV

I know your not trying to blame either program.... But if you look through the posts in the forum there are many people who have had similar problems when trying to do the initial scan after playing with EPG solutions. As if it is more sensative during the EPG scan as opposed to doing a normal scan via add channetls

You do not say what type of card you have, I know that some like the tiny usb2 sometimes reports back the wrong ch9...

You can not edit the channel frequency table, or manually add the HD Ch 9 - well not really easily at least..... Unfortunately as per my ealrier post, you can only but try to do a rescan, and as I pointed out - delete all the channels when doing the rescan and hope for the best.

Re: Can't Get Channel 9 HD after installing FreeXMLTV

Thanks again to you both.

As mentioned in my first post I am using a Winfast DVT1000T tuner.

On about my 7th attempt tonight I did finally manage to get 9HD - I have no idea why it suddenly started working - and I was deleting all channels before scanning each time.

So again, thank you both for your help/encouragement with this issue - I'm sure I wouldn't have kept mindlessly scanning if it weren't for your advice.

I guess this issue is now closed.
