Beta Test of a new config... The Configurator

If your interested to see what is coming to Freexmltv - you can play with this little item

Freexmltv configurator

I leave you guys test and play with it - but if there are no real problems, then this will form part of the installer program for freexmltv - either I or scheppel will create this in the next few days....

So what does it do? Its a graphical interface. You click on the options you want, which regionds, High Def, Paytv etc... and it creates the files you need to process it...

Of particular importance - it creates the channelinfo.xml file FOR YOU ! You no longer have to freexmltv with the channelinfo switch, and then edit the batch file to remove that switch.... its just done, so the first time you use it - its correct.
It also allows you to edit the channel names so you can change the channelinfo file right from the start....

Anyway at present - because its not integrated into the installer - and I want you to play / discuss / comment on it first.... this is probably the best way to use it.

Install BRP - do not configure BRP
Install FreeXMLTV 3.1 - use all the defaults as given to you by the installation process
Run this Configurator Tool
Select the options you require - if it cannot find Bladerunner on your machine or Freexmltv it will prompt you to select their location (ie. for those who dont install on drive C: ?)
Click on Configurate
Done

- It has updated the EPG.BAT file with the options you need, it has also created the channelinfo.xml file and placed it in the correct location.

- You just need to run the EPG.BAT file, go into MCE and do the BRP / Postcode 000 / Scan / Assign channel bit - and you should be done....

Much easier, and will be even easier after some intial feedback and it is included as part of the installation process.
