FreeXMLTV problem with dates

Hello,

My FreeXMLTV was cruising along smoothly until I reloaded XP MCE and now I am getting this error:-

WHOOPS, Process failed, please refer to any errors...

C:\WINDOWS\ehome\BladeRunnerPro\FreeXMLTV\FreeXMLT V.exe did not execute successfully...

Looks like a date format error? Is this happening anywhere else?

Cheers.

Re: FreeXMLTV problem with dates

Delete everything in the Data directory - then run it again... Maybe you have crap data cached?

And at least tell us what region / parameters your using so it can be checked?

Re: FreeXMLTV problem with dates

I am getting the exact same error

Region=SYD PAYTV=FOD VERBOSE

Guide has been working find until yesterday when this error popped up

Deleted everything in the DATA folder and ran again - only to get the same error as the OP

Have run from CMD line FreeXMLTV and get exact same error as if run in Bladerunnerpro

Re: FreeXMLTV problem with dates

Same problem here in Brisbane.

Unhandled Exception : System Invalid CastException: Conversion from string "2/1/2006 8 12:00 am" to type 'Date' is not valid.

I also deleted everything in data directory and problem persists.

Help

Re: FreeXMLTV problem with dates

I tried it using your parameters.... and it works for me.... sorry!

It sounds like corrupt data - and looking at what you have shown - 2/1/2006 8 12:15 am is certainly not a date... I dont know where that 8 is coming from....

I need to see the html with the 8 and the reasons why.....

If you get corrupt data, and it gets saved to a html file, next time it will use that html file as a cache - hence why you need to clear the data folder...

I never intended freexmltv to be run from the bladerunner config and arguments as most of you currently do.... You may find that there is a second data folder with the cached info, and your clearing out the wrong folder? You can safely delete the whole data folder - the program will create it if neccessary.
So check if you have a blaedrunner\data and or bladerunner\guidedata\data folder and delete those, and retry again...

You can tell if the cached files are deleted, as you can see each program scroll slowly across the screen... if its cached, it scrolls too fast to read...

Alternatively - scan the data folder and find that string - and send me the html file to look at...

Re: FreeXMLTV problem with dates

All three previous problems reported have been at 12:15 and 12:00 Midnight on the 1st of the Feb 2006.

May be something about changing to the new month.

That may be true brettucker - except for the one thing you have forgotten.... I have run it using the same parameters on several machines at my place - all without error.

If it was a code problem relating to dates and end of month - I would be able to reproduce it... Which I can not.

Given this - it must be corrupt data that was saved in the cache, corrupt data received over the internet, or environmental - something different about the machines - ie. is their machine date correct? Anything changed or personalised to create differing format or customised format of the date... region is set to Aus ?

Its not end of month - that would be too easy... and reported by the 1000 odd people using it...

Re: FreeXMLTV problem with dates

I had a similar problem. I found if I deleted the history in IE it fixed the prob. Don't know how, but it did.

Wink Re: FreeXMLTV problem with dates

My humbelest apologies to Impact. You are indeed correct.

Fixed.

I found that in my regional and Language options the Date , currency info etc had reverted back to English (United States) instead or English(Australia). this must have been stuffing up the date .

I found this info at the end of the FreeXMLTV pdf. I had not read it before. Sorry.

It was all working fine until recently so I suspect something i installed or an update I loaded must have changed this setting.

I hope this fix (albeit, human error) works for others as well.

Regards

BT
