Unhappy No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

Hi Everyone,

I recently;
- uninstalled bladerunnerpro
- reinstalled with lastest version (v3)
- installed FreeXmlTV (2v)
- went to resetup guide listings
- performed scan...

and got no services. Now I can't even watch tv.

I've tried removing both, rebooting and reinstalling, but that hasn't helped. I haven't changed anything else on the system.

Can anyone offer any ideas???

Is your channelinfo.xml setup correctly?

Re: No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

could that actually stop mce from scanning for services? I'm pretty sure that the ChannelInfo.XML file is correct. I'll double check this afternoon.

Re: No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

No but mine does a weird thing where I get all of the services upon the first scan after a fresh install. I then install brp and freexmltv. When I scan again to finish that config it finds a lot less services. However, when I go in to add listings to channels they are all there so I'm hoping the same may apply to you(which means that your channelinfo.xml needs to be correct).

Re: No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

I am having the same problem as Hugh.
I am using the channelinfo.xml file created by FreeXMLTV.
Scanning finds no services. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Re: No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

I solved this problem by starting a scan. Then selecting the delete option to delete all the scanned stations and starting the scan again. It seems to pick up all the stations the second time round.

Re: No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

Thanks, did that, seems to have worked, but had to do it with one tuner card only.

Went back to setup told it I had two cards, now I get no signal on channel 10. All other channels work fine?

Re: No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

Same happened to me ... after scanning, deleting, scanning a few times, I ended up using "Media Center Configuration Reset v1.03.5" to reset mce to original config (I think it's similar to this one) ...

http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...?do=file&id=45

I had to reinstall BRP again and quickly run through mce setup wizard again but channels did scan properly after this.

Bit of a pain but it worked.

Re: No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

Hi

Ive got the same problem after installing the new version of bladerunner and freexmltv i dont find any services.
I got freexmltv to configure the xml file for me.

when i go into edit channels all the channels are there with their frequencies beside them. except channel nine which says nine perth.

does the channel scan only pick up channels if the name matches the guide listing?

any help would be appreciated

cheers
smudger

Re: No Services Scanned after BRP & FreeXmlTV

Yep, that's what happened to me... even though I went through the process of re-scanning channels/services, of which I could only now pick up two, I went into 'edit channels' and all the previously scanned channels/services were there.

This is why I had to reset mce (using above mentioned method) before I could get anything to work.

** The 'channelInfo.xml' file has NOTHING to do with mce scanning channels/services. It is only used by mce (for the guide) when adding listings to channels.
