Other XML Pre Processing Requests

If you need anything else to help our guide data look better, let me know in this thread of any ideas or enhancements - can normally get these little utils done quickly...

ie. I have thought about a merge utility, so that you could extract say FTA data, and regional data and merge them into one XML file for processing...

ie. Anybody ever found Uppercase / Punctuation problems - could p**** the guide data info to ensure its always proper case ?

ie. Want small 2 minute shows removed from the data (like Tattslotto) and that time tacked on to the earlier show or something?

Always interested in ideas - so senf them this way in this thread...

Re: Other XML Pre Processing Requests

Hey Impact, some great ideas there. About the first one what do you mean by regional data?

Re: Other XML Pre Processing Requests

If you lived in a cusp of an area - and could pick up say Melbourne FTA, and also some regional country stations - say down Geelong way or something...

You could TVharvest the Ch9 /7/10's of the world and then TVharvest the WIN's and other stations, combine them together and have all defined in your MCE machine...

(Not really for Digital users, but maybe Analgoue users)...

Maybe you want to create a standard XML to use everytime - 12:00 to 1:00, 1:00 to 2:00 - all divided up into hourly segments. because your feeding a security camera into the system and you want to record it...

Just ideas?

Re: Other XML Pre Processing Requests

OK...just as i thought.

I'm actually doing that now with regional sth coast nsw tv.

I have dual digital tuners and after I got my new anntennae replaced after a storm i was able to pick up wollongong etc (i'm in sydney) - good for watching cricket at scg when it's sold out .

Anyway I've setup the guide to grab in TVHarvest by adding an additional guide key and changing the data to grab the south coast data..goto ninemsn and see what url is the region.

To add a guidekey just copy and paste the original and add a "1" to the guidekey
e.g. <add key="GuideURL1" value="htt.....etc

Re: Other XML Pre Processing Requests

That works - and I have done that before.... I was thinking also for other sources too... ie. in Melbourne Ninemsn does not give the community channel - so you may scrape that with another utility and need to merge them
