EPG*Stream Code:3 error at guide download.

Hi,
Recently I installed EPG*Stream through the OneClick setup via the main website.
I've registered and confirmed my account, when setting up the guide i enter my postcode, select the service and area "Lysterfield (EPG*Stream Digital)". The setup completes fine accept when i select "get latest guide listings" it says it will tell me once the download is complete and soon reports an error resulting in "The guide could not be downloaded for the following reason: Windows System Error (Code: 3) Select help for more information."
Unfortunatly the MCE help hasnt gotten me anywhere.
Im running MCE 2005, with a digital TV tuner in the melbourne area.
Any help would be great,
Thanks for your time.
Timmeh~

Thumbs up Re: EPG*Stream Code:3 error at guide download.

Hey timmeh1!

GUIDE DOWNLOAD ERROR
The guide could not be downloaded for the following reason: Windows system error (Code: 3)

Basically Media Center uses the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (or just plain 'ole BITS) to handle your guide download requests. The error you're encountering indicates your BITS is currently disabled or has died a painful death!

To fix this you can try the following command from a Command Prompt console :
NET START "Background Intelligent Transfer Service"
If you get a "... Service was started successfully." message then you should be able to download your guide.
If you get a "System error 1058 has occurred." then your BITS service may be disabled and you'll have to set the service's Startup Type to Manual. If you're not sure how to do this then just reply to this post and we'll let you know how to do it.

Did Free*EPG cause this guide error? No ... looks like something has just gone wrong with your BITS service, possibly it was disabled by your administrator or it has been 'damaged' in some way. Free*EPG doesn't actually need to configure or alter BITS. You'll probably find that IceTV would have the same problem if you installed it now and tried to download your guide information.

Thanks,
