FOXTEL, AUSTAR and OptusTV guides can be downloaded to your Media Center installation using our two simple utilities: wmcGuideServiceProxy and xmltvDownload.
Basically xmltvDownload is installed as a Windows Service on your machine and can be configured to download your XMLTV guide information up to 3 times a day (randomly), utilising a caching protocol to reduce server loaded.
wmcGuideServiceProxy also runs as a Windows Service on your machine and loads your XMLTV data directly into Media Center automatically downloads it's guide or when you perform a manual "Get Latest Guide Listing".

Retrieving your XMLTV Data from an external Guide Service
Download and install xmltvDownload from this link.
From the Windows Start Menu, select "All Programs" > "epgStream.net Software" > "XMLTV Download" > "Configure XMLTV Download"
Your "XMLTV Download Configuration" dialog should now appear.
Use the "Service" tab to configure your "Service Gateway". For Australian users, select "OzTiVo" as your guide provider.
Use the "Service" tab to configure your "Download Schedule" download frequency. :!: Do NOT start the service yet!
Use the "Channels" tab to select which Pay TV (and free-to-air) channels you require.
Click the "Save Changes" button and the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
Click the "Close" button to close the "XMLTV Download Configuration" dialog.
Click "Yes" when asked to start your download Windows Service. Enter your local Administrative credentials when prompted.
Note: As soon as your "Download Schedule" service is started, the xmltvDownload will start to download your data. If you are downloading a large amount of data this may take time to complete so check your Windows Event Log for your download status. To launch your Windows Event Log Viewer, simply type "eventvwr.exe" from any Windows command prompt.
If you are experiencing problems with this setup, then please post to our xmltvDownload forum.

We are working on a standard channel list, which will include channel numbers, that can be imported into Guide Service Proxy. We'll post information on this when it is complete.
Select 'Set Up Guide Listings' option and proceed to setup your guide as-per-usual. Make sure you enter a postcode and not '0000'.
Select 'Get Latest Guide Listings' option.
Enjoy!
We are building a channel list that can be imported directly into Guide Service Proxy, which will have the all channel numbers included! Unfortunately we don't have FOXTEL so we aren't sure about all the channel numbers.
Re: FAQ - How to Download FOXTEL/AUSTAR/OptusTV Guides
Excuse the rough listing format below, but can you guys help us out and let us know what the channel numbers for the following channels are? If indeed these OzTiVo channels belong to FOXTEL?
All of the "+2" channels are FOXTEL channels but we're not sure what their number is. Is there a definitive text list of channel number lurking on the 'net somewhere?
Re: FAQ - How to Download FOXTEL/AUSTAR/OptusTV Guides
Oh, by the way, you have 'Fox Footy Channel' listed a few times there.
Fox Footy channel ceased transmission 18 months ago, and made way for Fox Sports 3. So you can delete the various Fox Footy Channel stations from your list.

(LIFE+2) Lifestyle +2: Is Ch 157 on Foxtel
(HIST+2) History +2: Seems to have ceased transmission, as it is no longer in the EPG. Perhaps will be readded when they launch their new satellite?
(MINDGAMES): There is an interactive channel called Gamesworld. This is Ch 555, not sure if that's what it is.
And you have one called Discovery Home and Amp. There is a channel called Discovery Home and Health. This is channel 640. Again, not sure if this is the channle you're referring to.
Those are the only current Foxtel channels in that list. I recognise a few of the other channels there as being from other PayTV providers, but I do not know the channel numbers as I only have foxtel. Perhaps their websites have more info?
Btw, if you need more info about anything, just ask, as I have the day off from uni, and am sitting in front of the foxtel right now.

What service broadcasts these channels? Is it Optus? Thanks for the great program epgStream. I'm finding Media Center much easier to schedule recordings with now.
