Over the air EPG data and media center

Its not quite a free*epg topic, but I'm curious if anyone has found a way to download all the station transmitted EPG data and then incorporate that into the Media Center Guide?
I'm quite keen for this feature, as I get the impression that it may be more accurate?
Specifically, on Sundays, there are TV shows that my mum uses her Media Center to record (yes, you read that right, I've set one up for my parents and they manage to use it), but the guide data seems not correctly updated, despite numerous attempts at refreshing the data over the weekend, I'm guessing its just not entered in quickly enough around Friday afternoon when the new guide is published?
Anyway, if I didn't need to download the guide data from the net, that would be great.

Any ideas at all?

Re: Over the air EPG data and media center

I was thinking about this yesterday & I think we have all the required tools available, but they just haven't been put together yet.

You would need to use one of the grabbers from this thread: http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...-epg-data.html

And use the FreeEPG tool from this thread to load it in to VMC: http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...placement.html

I'm thinking of trying it on my office PC to see if I can get a reliable result.

Justin

Re: Over the air EPG data and media center

Please, let me know! I have no clue how accurate the transmitted data is, but would like to think that its probably about as accurate as the current free*epg data available?
I look forward to your posting about your results!

This would be an awesome solution providing the EIT data is up to scratch!
