Hi guys. I updated to Free*EPG on March 31st, before the impending failure of my old setup with BladRunnerPro and OzTivo after that day. I loved the ease of the setup (just click it and go), but I then found that MCE couldn't see any channels, or it appears even use, my 2nd tuner, which was working fine in MCE under the old guide setup, and still works fine outside the MCE interface.
My main tuner is a PCI (internal) DNTV!Live MiniPCI, and my second is a DNTV!Live TinyUSB2 (external). I have run the channel scan a number of times, varying the tuner order (via the 'Media Center uner Priority' app), but it never appears to even use the TinyUSB tuner, as it doesn't light up the 2nd blue light.
As I said, I can use both tuners under DNTV!Live, but not in MCE. Is there something I need to setup to make it use both now? I don't think I did under the previous setup, and it does show both tuners in MCE just prior to starting the scan, so I'm stumped.
Can anyone please shed some light on my problem? After running 2 tuners for so long, it feels like the dark ages now with only one!! Thanks...
Thanks for the reply, and I agree wholeheartedly with what you say, except it was working fine in MCE before I ran the Free*EPG install, and then it wasn't, so I'm inclined to blame Free*EPG in this case! Not necessarily the function it performs, as I know what you are saying, but something in the install has definitely changed a part of MCE to stop it using the USB tuner.
Maybe I wasn't clear too, but I have been doing the "Set Up TV Signal" option, not "Scan For More Services" and it just can't seem to use the 2nd USB tuner.
Is there anywhere that the tuners need to be set that might have been changed? It's definitely an MCE issue, as it works fine outside of the MCE interface in DNTV!Live - I can view both tuners at once from there no problem...
Thanks for the reply logifuse, but no go. I checked all the registry settings in that link, and mine were all fine.
It was actually a terribly convoluted way of doing it I thought, as I've been using an app called "Media Center Tuner Priority" by Mark Salloway for a while now (I don't remember where I got it from, but I think it was from here somewhere) that does the job perfectly, and actually changes those exact registry entries. Much simpler!
However, after updating drivers, re-installing the USB tuner in another USB port, changing tuner priorities around and numerous "Set Up TV Signal" runs, my USB Tuner still works perfectly in DNTV!Live, but NOT in MCE...

Salloway's app only deals with 2 tuners, the link I directed you to deals with 3 or more - I only directed you there becuase it has screenshots of the actual registry entries to compare against.

Cool, I hope I didn't sound ungrateful, as it WAS really handy to see the actual registry entries, so thanks for that. I'm rapidly approaching re-install MCE stage thanks to this app... ;-(
