Guide problems with FreeEPG Error Code 34 from Sunday 24 Feb onward

Hi guys,

I have Vista MC and am using epgstream / FreeEPG. I have been using this without issue for months now and today I got a guide update error "Error Code 34".

I have tried to reconfigure the guide but now get "Unknown discovery service error. Code 14" during guide setup.

Any help greatly appreciated. I note that the epgstream.net website seems to be down, maybe this is linked (do they serve the guide from there?)

Cheers,
Montza

Hi. Same problem here too, i.e. error 34. Never had any problems before today. Hoping someone can advise what the cause is and fix, if one is needed.

Looks like guys at http://www.epgstream.net/ have some problems with one of the databases.
Tomorrow it should be back to normal.

Re: Guide problems with FreeEPG Error Code 34 from Sunday 24 Feb onward

Hi All,

Is anybody else still experiencing this problem? I have been unable to update my guide since friday evening. When I try and update my guide I receive an error message detailing that the guide can't be updated with Error 34, and when I try and re-setup my guide listings i receive error 14 ( unable to contact guide server ).

Also, when i try to navigate to epgstream.net i receive a DotNetNuke Error.

Thanks

Re: Guide problems with FreeEPG Error Code 34 from Sunday 24 Feb onward

Hey guys, I am having the same problem at the moment... it has been occurring for about 4 or so days now and no matter what I do it always comes up with error code 34 when I try to download the latest guide listings. On a couple of occasions throughout this period it has come up with a few listings on ABC and a few other channels, but when I go into tools and tell it to download the latest guide it comes up again with error 34!!

I am using Vista Home Premium and live in Sydney if that helps at all.

Cheers,

John

Hi John

Welcome to the forum.
epgStream will Discontinue their Free*EPG Internet Service 20/10/08
Go back to the epgStream site and download their XMLTV Guide Pack
The XMLTV Guide Pack replaces the Free EPG Service.

Bryce
