Firstly excellent software, it made getting the guide up and running very easy.
Anyway, onto my problem; My Vista machine is not picking up the guide info for the new 10HD channel. The only options for ten in the guide setup are SC10, Ten Digital and Ten HD. The Ten HD still has the data for channel 12 (the original ten hd channel) but there doesn't seem to be a new one for the new ten hd channel 1.
I was reading through the other thread which has been closed now. I have just rerun the guide setup and selected Free-To-Air Digital (epgStream.net Free*EPG) and nothing changed. Anyone got an idea what is happening? Also, there doesn't seem to be a listing for SBS2, but that doesn't really bother me much.
This is in Brisbane BTW using 4012 as my postcode.
Cheers,
Gary

Your post is not entirely useless as you may think. You may be able to confirm something for me
I just wanted to check whether you are using the Free*EPG data feed for Brisbane or the ozTivo data feed for Brisbane. I am also in Brisbane (in Toowong 4066) but have been hesitant to use the Free*EPG data stream as I though it was only for the southern states and there was no 'verified' data for it?
I know that the Free*EPG feed has the proper HD content listed (unlike ozTivo's feed - at least as far as I can see as I am using that info currently).
If you (or any other Free*EPG users) can confirm this for me, I will rescan the guide using the Free*EPG data (and will be most greatful).

Hi!
Must have been a while since you've used the Free*EPG feed because it will provide you with all the ozTiVo data plus the 'unverified' data you mentioned.
If you are using Vista you shouldn't have to re-scan, just simply go through the Guide Setup again ... (If I remember correctly!)
Actually I can see the differences now, I just thought there would be more differences between the two channels. Sorry for a(nother) useless thread.
So I now have 12 set to 10 Digital, and 1 set to Ten HD. I assume this is the correct way to do it?
Can anyone confirm that this is the right way to do it?
I have never noticed any different stuff being broadcast on the Ten 1 channel vs the Ten 12 channel myself so am unsure how to setup the guide listings. The Ten HD 12 channel got the Ten HD listing from FreeEPG whilst Ten HD 1 channel got "no data available"
I'm going to try how GaryD has it. Is this correct?
I'm still confused about all the different ten channels. Is channel 1 the same as 12 or are they different? Is there a reason in VMC why you can't assign the same guide listings to multiple channels? When I do this it shows no info for one of them.

Hi Banger.
In fact I have 'never' used the Free*EPG guide listings. I have only recently starting using VMC and the EPG and when I visited the Free*EPG website originally (only about 3 months ago now - and again today to get my facts straight), there was information on the Free*EPG tab that said that the Free*EPG guide had verified data for Melbourne and Sydney and that 'some' information was available for other metro areas. From the way this was worded, I took that to mean that if you are outside of Melbourne or Sydney, the ozTivo feed would be a better choice.
I'll openly admit that I probably misinterpreted the meaning of the "What guide information is available?" section of the page. This is only a suggestion but perhaps it might be an idea to update this page (and possibly the install guide - which is pretty excellent BTW) and point out that the Free*EPG guide listings are now pretty advanced and it should be the 'first choice' when choosing the content provider in the VMC guide setup.
I will try to redo the guide again using the Free*EPG listings tonight. The prospect of 12 day program info is very cool indeed.
Sorry GaryD for semi-hijacking your post - I'll rack off now

Hi!
Sorry, didn't realise your were a new'ish EPG user! Well the problem about the website information has been recognised: ozTiVo 'SevenHD' and 'TenHD' channels now available! ... and we are in the process of updating our website to avoid future confusion!

Choice - glad it wasn't just me! BTW also flicked you some Coke and Pizza cash for all the late nights you have been doing lately and for "keeping ahead of the Jones'" - really appreciated. I also clicked your google ads a couple of times too...
