Vista and EPG does it work

I went throught he sticky post on setting up EPG for use on Windows VISTA Media Centre.
I got the hotfix from MS and applied it.
I also applied the other hotfix.
I installed the EPG software.
Just can't get to the EPG.
Has anyone got this to work on Windows VISTA 32bit edition?
The guide avaiable on the EPG website is for MCE 2005 is there a guide for VISTA version 6?

Re: Vista and EPG does it work

Yes it does work - there's many many happy users of Free*EPG here in the forums.

Looking at your post, it seems you may have missed a step.

Before using the EPG, you need to go through the guide setup wizard process within VMC - this asks various questions including your post code, and selecting a guide to use.

Thanks for feed back. I did give this a try but for some reason the guide setup wizard keeps assuming I want the Windows VMC default guide which we all know doesn't work for Australia.

Re: Vista and EPG does it work

Are you sure you've downloaded and installed "setup.exe" from http://www.epgstream.net/ ?

If you have, you should be getting Free*EPG (and a bunch of others) as options when selecting which guide you want to use.

I think this is the correct URL for the file:

http://www.epgstream.net/free-epg/pu...2005/setup.exe

Follow the instructions on this page.

Defintely downloaded the setup.exe from epgstream. I Did it yesterday and again this evening. It defintely is installed because it asked me if I wanted to repair exiting installation or remove it. In VMC I go to tasks>settings>tv>guide>setup guide listings. It then asks me to confirm Australia region. I click on yes and next and this give me download failure msg "The download of new options could not be completed.". Doesn't actually get to showing any guides to select.
