Future support for PayTV channels?

Not sure how feasible it is to clog up the single level MCE Guide with 60 odd (or whatever) Foxtel channels, but it would be heading in the direction of the all-in-one solution now that analogue and digital cards can co-exist with MCE.

Thanks for the superb effort.

Re: Future support for PayTV channels?

Hey Stebbo!

Wow! PayTV is a big call and we have to do a little more research into the PayTV channels and legals. Actually might be a good excuse for us to finally get Foxtel to do our testing with!

Anyway, PayTV not for a while ... and even if we did offer it, we'd probably give the users a choice of a Digital Only or Digital + PayTV guides so you didn't have to get channels you didn't want!

Thanks,

Re: Future support for PayTV channels?

It would be a tough job I suppose to explain to the wife why MCE can't have a channel-categorised EPG like foxtel anyway (you know, MOVIES, NEWS, ENTERTAINMENT).

I guess if you do release the guide in XMLTV, it would be possible to merge them, but I'm liking the way you've made the guide so simple that it'd be hard to go back to mucking around again.
