Did you type your address in Google Maps and activated Street View?
Amazing! Quite old images, but good for house hunting or navigation around.
What do you think?

Can't you just buy one from Bunnings?
Yeah, I typed in my home address - the photo's are fairly old, it's got the people who used to rent this place, before we bought it, car out the front.
Kinda cool, but useless at the same time. Really, what's the benefit? And how much did it cost Google to do?

I am not sure what are the benefits, but checking out the suburb before going and watching the HOUSE It could be good.
Other uses will come along as people more innovative than me and you will try to make money

mine are definately summer of 08 on a friday, empty bins are out. I did a little wondering around the neighbourhood and saw a house with big windows, on the windows was a reflection of a white van with something on the roof at the "eye" level of the picture so I'm guessing it was the van taking all the 360 degree pictures!

There was an article on Channel 10 news about privacy concerns over this functionality. Mostly overblown (and there are lots of articles/angst on the web over this) but not entirely invalid.
It certainly makes browsing for a place to rob a lot simpler for a would-be burglar, all from the comfort of their home. Obvious entry and exits, security grills (or lack thereof), windows, fences, and neighbors, and you don't even know your place is being cased.

Here we go, another commercial use of Google Street View. I agree it will be used in this way.
I live on battle-axe property, all you see is a driveway
