Tell you what...let's drop this silly idea of the post of the week.
Thus far I have only seen it another mechanism by which certain people deride other persons' posts, e.g., the Airwave/Land/Property one.

Yup - I'm a real sucker for that style of stating your case Oz - it gets me in every time.

I won't respond in kind because like myself, you don't deserve to be addressed like that, but I will point out that despite what you may prefer, I will continue to try new functions here and give the community the opportunity to evaluate them and then vote with their feet.

If we don't like something, it can easily be removed, but please don't expect me to stop trying new things, I have no intention of allowing this place to stagnate by remaining unchanged.

It's called a rejoinder. The old "I gotta story", rejoined to "No, I gotta story". Recall the scene in Crocodile Dundee with the "now that's a knife" and you'll get the picture.

This is the pub after all, but text just just convey attitude adequately. Apologies if you were offended by the form, rather than the content. The content stands. I have no problems with new things getting introduced provided that they don't slow this website down more than it already is, or that new features aren't misused, as this Topic of the Week feature has been, IMHO.

I can't believe that there is any danger of this place stagnating. It is alive and vibrant.
