Hi all,
I have recently received a nasty-gram from my ISP regarding being tuned into channel BT... if you know what I mean. SO I am considering changing to some one else.
Which ISP does everyone use? Anyone got a recommendation?
Cheers guys
Which ISP are you with now & how specific was the letter? Just wondering if it was based on your traffic pattern or if they're received specific complaints?
I use Optus cable & TPG ADLS2+ - I probably wouldn't recommend either as Optus is slow uploading & new plans are ridiculously high priced & TPG uses a "transparent" proxy that can cause trouble.
Justin

I use Comcen at the moment.... 150gb (50gb peak, 100gb off-peak) a month ADSL2+ downloads. You have to sign up for a phone with them, so it's $110 a month. But you do get free line rental depending on the length of time you sign up - 3 months free for a 12 month contract, 6 for a 24 month.
Uploads aren't counted in your quota either (unlike some other large plans), and they don't throttle p2p.... I had a torrent at a sustained speed of > 500kB/sec.
Unfortunately , I have just moved house and had to go with Telstra to get ADSL 2+. Otherwise I would go with iinet naked dsl. Great prices and makes phone call really cheap(no landline rental)

Put the fear of god up me .... So not sure where to go from here. The "Alleged" material has been disposed of, so hopefully thats it.
I can't get ADSL 2 where I am going, have to wait for a while on that front...
lolz... I have to admit being 100% pleased since switching to Netspace from bigpoo. Uploads arent counted in the quota either. (DSL) I got 20/20 for $70. I since downscaled simply because I wasnt using it all
Also, when you ring tech support you dont get put through to calcutta. This makes tech support available only til 8ish or so, but Id prefer that than a useless conversation with Apu at 2am that gets me nowhere. When I last called, "Mick" fixed me up in 5 mins.
Im happy with it, and the price. You can pick a 6 month contract so you have the freedom to bugger them off if you come across something better
