Not planning on it, it appears that most features will be crippled and it will only initially be a fancy dual tuner PVR with a decent guide.
I already have a machine that does more than the TiVo can, even if all the features were enabled.
BTW, the 'No, it's rubbish' option seems a little harsh. They seem to be a good solution for those people who are less technically inclined. It's a good bridge between a basic STB and a Media Centre PC.
All I need from a device - TV recording, EPG, video play from server - they say it will be available with firmware download.
For that matter PS3 with tuner will do.
Just thinking about my options. It seems that MS does not deliver and does not listen to the customers.

The EPG for the Tivo will be subscription based broadband download, NOT free. Basically you pay $700 for the privellege of paying more for a propriatary EPG format........bwahahahahahahahahah they're going to get my money bwahahahahahahahah.
The video play from a local server will be an extra charge and quite possibly ...subscription based. I have to pay them extra for the ability to play my own videos on my own Tivo ........... bwahahahahahahahah!
