Re: Crunched files, audio sync problems, and Archos
The output file that crunchie creates should be no more taxing on the system than an avi downloaded off the net.
The only thing that will up the CPU power requred for playback is the "Double Rate Deinterlace". Don't use that and you should be fine.
All audio in Crunchie (at this point in time), is converted to 128kbs mp3.
That should be fine for a standalone player..
The output resolution might be a factor. If you are not using double rate deinterlace you can try changing the output resolution to something lower.
In the install folder of crunchie you will find a .ini file. There are two values in there that control output resolution. They are:
AR169
AR43
These contain the values used for 16:9 and 4:3 material respectively. You can change the values to anything you like but make sure they are multples of 16.
i.e. Currently the AR169 value is probably 640x368 you could for instance change that to 592x320 or 320x184 (probably look terrible) but you get the drift.
A bitrate up to about 1500 should also be fine.
Cheers,
Arkay.
