Re: Issue im having with crunchie

Hi Cordlez,

Can you please post the contents of your ini file as well. What it's saying is that is was unable to find the mpeg file in your mpgtmp directory.

Can you also please change it (if not set already) to not delete the temporary mpeg file. Run it again and see if the file is actually in your temp dir.

The only time I've seen this happen before is when there is something odd in the file name itself. & characters used to cause it though I've worked around that one.

You could try renaming the dvr-ms file to something with no spaces i.e. test.dvr-ms and see what happens then.

Post the ini file and I'll have a look.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: Issue im having with crunchie

Hmmm. Looks like the conversion to mpeg failed, were you able to check the other stuff above? Is there an mpeg file there? Can you play it if there is?

Are you running RU2?

I can't see anything wrong in the ini file.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: Issue im having with crunchie

I am running RU2 on my mce box. I did check to see if there was an mpg file in the temp directory but there wasnt.

Does this software have to be installed on an mce machine? i currently have it installed on my win2k3 server.

Re: Issue im having with crunchie

Ok. Two things.

1. No, it doesn't have to be installed on an MCE however if you're running 2k3 it doesn't support dvr-ms out of the box. You have to make some modifications first. Can you try and play a dvr-ms file in WMP10. If it doesn't work you'll need to make the changes, there's a post about it on here somewhere. Try a search for dvr-ms win2k3.

2. If your recordings are comming from RU2 you're pretty much wasting your time with Crunchie as it is at the moment. DVRMSToolbox doesn't work with AC3 audio. Anything with AC3 in it will encode (possibly) but you will end up with files with no audio.

Only SD recordings on those channels that do not broadcast an AC3 signal will work with Crunchie until I can find a replacement for DVRMSToolbox, or a fix for it.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: Issue im having with crunchie

Not all. But most, including SD broadcasts... Can't remember off the top of my head which is which.

Shouldn't complain I guess. That's what we all wanted (AC3, HD etc).

Some option in MCE to choose which audio stream to record would be really nice though!

Cheers,
Arkay.
