DVRMSToolbox Error "Error in Do Work"

Hi All,

I am hoping that someone has seen this before, I have spent a few days trying to find an answer but have not had any luck, so please forgive me if I have overlooked another post that answers this.

I need to get Crunchie working on my main MCE recorder machine, it is presently working perfectly on a standard windows XP SP2 machine, but due to a tight **** IT company I work for I have to give back this machine. So I need to work out why Crunchie fails on my MCE box. The MCE Box uses two Dvico Lites, is running MCE2005, but not Emerald. It has never been able to run Crunchie.

The crunchie log shows this:

...
Mon Nov 14 10:46:42 2005 : ( CONVERSION) Processing Doctor Who_ABC_07_11_2005_18_02_02.dvr-ms.
Mon Nov 14 10:46:42 2005 : ( DVRMS->MPG) Converting Doctor Who_ABC_07_11_2005_18_02_02.dvr-ms to mpeg.
Mon Nov 14 10:46:48 2005 : ( CROPDETECT) Unable to stat C:\TEMP\Doctor Who_ABC_07_11_2005_18_02_02.mpg : No such file or directory
Mon Nov 14 10:46:48 2005 : ( FINISHED) C:\Program Files\Arksoft\Arksofts Crunchie\crunchie.exe Completed.
...

If I run DVRMStoMPEG manually I get this:

C:\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox>DVRMStoMPEG /if="D:\Recorded TV\Quincy ME_Seven_07
_11_2005_22_27_02.dvr-ms" /of=C:\temp\test4.mpg
InputFile=D:\Recorded TV\Quincy ME_Seven_07_11_2005_22_27_02.dvr-ms
Processing actions, this may take some time!!
Testing "Processed Files"
Testing "Every File"
"Every File" is a match.
Profile = findcommercials
Delete files from C:\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox\Temp
Output DVR-MS file as one temporary MPEG stream
Conversion Started: D:\Recorded TV\Quincy ME_Seven_07_11_2005_22_27_02.dvr-ms to
C:\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox\Temp\08e5cd95-1424-460e-8a6a-0d46f4ddbec3.mpg
Error in Do Work

So it would seem to me that the DVRMSToolbox is somehow failing to generate a Graph that will work? I tried creating one manually using graphedit and the CYBERLINK Muxer and Dump filters, and this worked fine.

So I am now stumped... Any ideas anyone... Please....

The only thing I've seen cause this is Nero Showtime. If you have any of the Nero video apps installed remove them and it should be fine

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: DVRMSToolbox Error "Error in Do Work"

Hi Arkay,

Thanks for the suggestion, I did have NeroVision installed, I tried removing it, and unregistering all of the Nero filters, ie

regsvr32 NeFileSrc.ax /u
regsvr32 NeRender.ax /u
regsvr32 NeAudio.ax /u
regsvr32 NeVideo.ax /u
regsvr32 NDP****r.ax /u
regsvr32 NeQTDec.ax /u
regsvr32 NeAudioConv.ax /u
regsvr32 NeAudioEnc.ax /u
regsvr32 NeroFormatConv.ax /u
regsvr32 NeroVideoProc.ax /u
regsvr32 NeSceneDetector.ax /u
regsvr32 NeVideoAnalyzer.ax /u
regsvr32 NeVCR.ax /u
regsvr32 NeFSource.ax /u
regsvr32 NeFileSourceAsync.ax /u
regsvr32 NePhotoSource.ax /u
regsvr32 NeNDAud.ax /u
regsvr32 NeNDMux.ax /u
regsvr32 NeNDVid.ax /u
regsvr32 NeSplitter.ax /u
regsvr32 NePSMuxer.ax /u
regsvr32 NeDVSplitter.ax /u

But still get the same problem. I guess the next step will have to be a rebuild...

Possibly not. Remove and re-install DVRMSToolbox and see what happens. It might re-align the directshow priorities for the Cyberlink codecs.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Still no go. Thanks for your help Arkay, I was planning on rebuilding this machnie sometime soon anyway, think that's going to the easiest solution.

Re: DVRMSToolbox Error "Error in Do Work"

I notice you are using the findcommercials plugin in DVRMSToolbox. from what the log above says it's acutally writing a temporary mpeg file to c:\program files\DVRMSToolbox\Temp.

It could be that your c: drive is filling up during the conversion?

Try the straight DVRMS to mpeg option and set the output file to a drive with plenty of space (if c: isn't your only drive). Worth a try..

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: DVRMSToolbox Error "Error in Do Work"

Thanks for your help Arkay, I checked C drive has 9+ GB free. I normally try without the commercial detection, I must have had it selected by accident last time. I'll do some more poking and see what I can find.
