Crunchie video issues

I think this has been mentioned before, but I couldn't track it down in the forums when I looked.

I've Crunchie-d a few files and the compression is fine and the audio is fine, but there is no picture to accompany the audio.

I'm reading a lot about Codecs throughout the forums, but to be honest I don't really know what the deal is with them. I'm guessing it is a Codec problem.

FYI, I'm just converting Analogue recorded shows.

Any hints please?

Thanks heaps.

Hi Jarynis - did you download and install FFDshow (codec) yet?

If not - you can get the latest stable version here

Re: Crunchie video issues

It should work if you install xvid as required by crunchie. I do not run FFDshow on my MCE.

Actually xvid isn't required by Crunchie at all. The xvid part of crunchie (the codec used to do compression) is actually internal to mencoder. So you can use either xvid or ffdshow or any other compliant mpeg4 codec for playback.

Cheers,
Arkay.

That most have changed since I have downloaded "Crunchie". Imagine how long I already have been using it for.
