Question Do i have the right codecs installed ?

Hi,

am running into some problems with Crunchie v1.1. Its doing the DVD-ms to mpg conversion fine but fails on the mpg to avi leg.

could it be the codecs i have installed ?

lots of chat on here about the nVidia codecs and ffdshow also. do i install both or one or the other ? do the nvidia codecs cover xDiv and divX ? at the moment i have both installed.

when i play an Xdiv format movie (in WMP 10) the ffdshow codecs show up in my taskbar ... so i am assuming its using them

am i completely off the track and there is another reason for the Crunchie error ?

ps can provide the log file if that can shed any further light on the topic

thanks

Re: Do i have the right codecs installed ?

Hi,

Please provide the log file. It's not a codec issue. The only thing that gets affected by codecs is the dvr-ms to mpeg step. Everything else is internal to mencoder.

Cheers,
Arkay.
