File size question

Hi Chaps, With a little bit of tweaking I managed to get Crunchie working on my Vista install Really pleasant program, fast and effective! plus nice and simple

I was just wondering if there was a way of getting the output file size down a little bit. I’ve been compressing a few episodes of my fave program and input DVR-MS files are 704x480 59 fps and just shy of one GB for each one. Crunchie converts them down to just over 500Mbs per 30min episode, with a bitrate of 2500, res of 640x368 and 50fps.

Sorry for the novice question, still pretty uneducated when it comes to video encoding

Cheers

Re: File size question

Hello again, still messing
I had a go encoding with double rate deinterlace disabled and my output file size ended up the same. Tried knocking down the bitrate to 1500 and my output file size dropped to 367mb from 590MB so thats pretty much a third off the size of the original DVR file and quality is still pretty decent
Is there anything I could tweak to get the file size down even more?

Cheers

Re: File size question

I find 1200 sample rate to be spot on. roughly 350mb for hr of recording. Yours looks good by the way.
