Thinking Of Building Your Own?

Bella has written an excellent guide based on his own experiences building his first every PC.

Of course his intention from the outset was for it to become his Media Center, a goal he achieved at a very low cost!

We recommend this document to inexperienced people who might be considering building their own HTPC.

Re: Thinking Of Building Your Own?

This guide does not warn newbies building a box of the HDCP trap. I am sure that there are other posts about it in these forums somewhere, but people starting out with a box reading this guide should -definitely- consider the implications of not buying HDCP compliant kit (graphics card, displays etc). Blu-Ray requires it, and any decent HTPC is going to want to include Blu-Ray capabilities into the mix.
