Unhappy Re: OrigenAE S16T build... "The new beast!"

I just received the S10V case, great looking case, but then today I got onto FortuneTec (the dstributer) to try and get the optional IR221.

The person I was in touch with (Bruce at FortuneTec) seemed very reluctant to sell it to me, and in the end he said he would sell it to me but without any cables or the IR blaster points.

What's up with that.???

Does anyone know where I can get the IR221 kit that's on the Origen website, or maybe anyone at FortuneTec who can help me.

cheers

What is your current IR module? I have got IR221 and I need IR210, maybe we can make some exchange?

Re: OrigenAE S16T build... "The new beast!"

the one I have now is one unit that does both the display and the IR VF210/IR210 using IRTrans.

The IR221 is an optional extra part for full Vista compatiblity and IR Blaster. There is a bracket in the S10V case where it goes.

I've found a US website that sells it but not outside the US.

Re: OrigenAE S16T build... "The new beast!"

update:-
FortuneTec (Aust distributor) came through in the end, I've ordered it.

Seems there was just some confusion over it, maybe someone not familiar with it.

will see how it goes when I get it, might get a TB HDD to put in as well

Can you put your system in standby without any problem with your new IR221?
With the one I have the system remains in standby for one second and then resumes by itself.

Thanks!

Hi,

I really don't know i don't use standby function. I placed the system to standby and it stayed that way. The system is set to S3 but i hear the fans when it sleeps so it is in S1. If i push the power button it awakes.

Why do you wan't it to sleep and not totally of? System starts and 1 minute later i can use it, or isn't that quick enough?

Before installing the IR221 I was able to put the system in standby (S3 with fans stopped) and it resumed from it when there was a show to record. I configured the power options to go in standby after 30 mins of inactivity.
In this was I do not have to remember to power on the HTPC when there is a show to record. When I power it on with the remote it is functional in just 4 seconds! It just works like any good DVR should work.
I have an S16V and the IR221 integrates with the VF210 module.
