Asus motherboard P5B-VM wake on USB?

Does anyone out there have a P5B-VM? I want to get one but only if it will resume from standby with the MCE USB remote. I've contacted Asus and they tell me it doesn't support wake on USB, but others with other versions of P5B boards say theirs resume with the remote OK (even though - at least in one case - the manual doesn't say they support wake on USB).

Can anyone with a P5B-VM confirm they resume from standby with the MCE remote?

Re: Asus motherboard P5B-VM wake on USB?

Asus has got back to me and confirmed the P5B-VM does not support wake on USB. Not much good for anyone wanting to use standby/resume with the MCE remote.

Thumbs up Re: Asus motherboard P5B-VM wake on USB?

I can confirm Asus P5B-VM DOES support wake on usb via mce remote.

It's not just a matter of jumpers and bios or pairing PSU/MB (even if this effectively ARE serious issues)

The only thing I had to dig into is the remote receiver configuration; I did that via MCECustomizer ("Enable Universal Remote"..or similar), and this is the behaviour:

Apparently the remote receiver is NOT powered, the little led NEVER flashes with ANY button; BUT "Powertoggle" or "On" resume the pc from S3.

With an old mb I had a totally different behaviour: EVERY button made the little led flash, and "Powertoggle" or "On" did resume from S3.

So I had some trouble, because thought that the receiver was not powered; but the point was instead a software configuration problem.

[Harmony Remote 688/Mce Receiver, P5B-VM with Antec Fusion Case]

Hope this can help

Bye

Re: Asus motherboard P5B-VM wake on USB?

Good work Tachyon, though it's a bit late for me - I went Intel ATX instead.

At least my instincts were correct about how much Asus support knew .

I never received an answer so maybe it's better for them to avoid such support !
