Re: SBS Tuning problems....cannot get it.

Hi Scott,

I'd suggest if you want it fixed as soon as possible you give us as much information as possible.

Not being able to SBS from a transmitter you can see is not really enough to go on

Can we start with your hardware. What tuner are you using, have you done and modifications to the base MCE setup etc etc.

Also have you searched the forums? This is not an uncommon problem.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: SBS Tuning problems....cannot get it.

Ok - sorry.... newbie

Im using a Blackgold.tv DVB-T card with MCE certified BDA drivers.

Also (trying) to use EPG Runner...although I dont care so much for the guide at this stage as the tuning I know what I wanted to watch.

Only Mod to MCE is a replaced psis???.dll for better tv tuning. This enabled me to get Channel 9... I was neven abel to get SBS, even before updating psisdec?.dll.

Cheers.

Re: SBS Tuning problems....cannot get it.

Ok. Can you get SBS in the applicatioin that came with the tuner card? If so, does the software list what frequencies it's tuning into for each of the stations?

If you can supply this information I can make you a custom dll to try.

You really need to verify that you can get SBS in other software also though.

If you supply a list of frequencies then also please supply your location (so I can name the file something useful) and others in your area can also benefit.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: SBS Tuning problems....cannot get it.

You can try DNTVLive! from www.digitalnow.com.au. I believe you can still download a trial version. Failing that you can get a hold of ScanChannelsBDA which is a part of the DigitalWatch package. Either should be able to tell you your frequencies. If you truly can pick up SBS on that card.

You may also need a registry hack to change the bandwidth setting to the correct value. Unfortuantely it's sounds like you've got an uncommon card there which isn't going to help matters much at all.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Re: SBS Tuning problems....cannot get it.

I would certainly recommend the bandwidth registry change.
You can find the details on this page
http://www.iln.com.au/xpertdtvmods.html
A Black and Gold card is just a Conexant Stratford design like a VStream, MSI, Leadtek etc etc

And certainly a custom DLL is on the cards.

Cheers

Re: SBS Tuning problems....cannot get it.

Ok thanks for all that ... although at the moment it is to no avail....Still no SBS.

2 On-Air VHF 12 226.5 MHz Mt Coot-tha
7 On-Air VHF 6 177.5 MHz Mt Coot-tha
9 On-Air VHF 8 191.625 MHz Mt Coot-tha
SBS On-Air UHF 36 585.625 MHz Mt Coot-tha
10 On-Air VHF 11 219.5 MHz Mt Coot-tha

There are the channel and frequency information I need to tune to... How do I make a custom DLL ?

Re: SBS Tuning problems....cannot get it.

Here's a DLL with your Frequencies in it.

http://www.iln.com.au/downloads/scottbeattie.zip

If it works it should find all your channels by 5% of the scan.
Remember to do the "Bandwidth" change in the registry
If you still don't have SBS then it's a signal issue. ( Too Weak, Too Strong, Local Interference)

cheers
