Re: BPR OzTivo how often does it download

Mark,

BRP will download as scheduled in your "scheduled tasks" area. Generally you would set this for every second day, or every day if you relly want. The time should be what ever suits you, generally related to when you are unlikely to be recording or doing other maintenance. The suggestion is that you use some "odd" time, ie not 5am exactly, so that there is no rush of downloads on the hour or half hour.

OZTVio I believe is updated daily to some degree with the major update on Friday. Not 100% sure here, but that is what I have observed.

As for the guide loading in MCE, you can set that time using a little utility in the doanload section of this site. Generally you would set it for a time sensibly (10 - 15 minutes) after you have run BRP via that scheduled task.

Thank you for your prompt and detailed reply. One more question please. Does the guide load in MCE already or do I need to run an application. What is the application called.

thanks again
Mark

Hi,

If you look at your scheduled tasks in Windows and open the BRP task. In there you should see the command line switches. I'm pretty sure a "-t" after it means trigger MCE to update guide.

Checkout Free *EPG - this can use the oztivo guide and it properly integrates with MCE without the need for any external scheduled tasks.

Mark,

May have led you a bit off on one thing - sorry

As Lester pointed (thanks Lester ) out BRP triggers a load after downloading. You shouldn't need the this bit:

"As for the guide loading in MCE, you can set that time using a little utility in the doanload section of this site. Generally you would set it for a time sensibly (10 - 15 minutes) after you have run BRP via that scheduled task."
