Questions/Help

Hi all,

I post alot of third party apps in your forum, and I am not australian but I think I want to give Bladerunner a try. I want to install Bladerunner becuase I want to customize my American epg. A couple of questions first...

1. Is Bladerunner only meant for austrailian users?
2. How hard would it be for me to import my own xml file and channels?

The last time I tried to install custom epg software I screwed up my machine. So I am trying to be more careful this time.
Do you think bladerunner can do what I want?

Re: Questions/Help

I've been using it in the US for several weeks due to the lame Microsoft guide for digital channels, i.e. no PBS or subchannels in the guide. It works great but zap2it is somewhat unreliable. Every so often it drops all the digital stations from my configuration and I have to go onto their website and reset things.

You'll also need Microsoft .NET 2.0 and XMLTV.

I now have a perfect digital station guide listing showing PBS and subchannels.

I cant say it was exactly easy to set up, but I managed to do it.

Re: Questions/Help

another question,

Is there a limit to how much epg bladerunner can handle?
Cuz I have 820 channels, and 14 days of guidedata
Memory usage is max when transforming guide data occurs.

Also, dmagerl can u post how you set yours up?

I am posting a screenshot of the error I am getting:

any ideas why this is happening?

I am using xmltv by the way from a north american provider Zap2it data-direct

Re: Questions/Help

Hi! I think the file you download with xmltv is "xmltv.xml" and the file who bladerunner is looking for is "guide.xml".

Just rename xmltv.xml=>guide.xml and it will works fine.

Re: Questions/Help

which version of bladerunner are you using? The latest one, Bladerunner Pro v3.5, does require the file to be called xmltv.xml.

Re: Questions/Help

I realize now that the problem must be the channelinfo.xml created by bladerunner. If I use a blank channelinfo, it works just fine. Since, Bladerunner creates the channelinfo.xml how could it be wrong?

TIA
