From Failed EPG Update - Catastrophic Error in 3 days

I have experienced an interesting phenomenon. Have any other experienced the same or similar.

The Scenario.

After setting up the 'Guide' with BladeRunner Pro 3.5 and OzTivoExtreme. All was OK.

Due to a firewall issue the next scheduled upload of the guide did not happen.

Roughly 48 hours later (exact timing to be provided after analysis of event logs is completed) the system did a soft reboot. If the guide is not corrected within 24 hours the system continues t do a soft reboot. The time between soft reboots is quite variable (cause yet to be confirmed) between 15 seconds to 1-2 minutes.

The system degrades as time passes and the soft reboots occurr at a decreasing time interval.

Sometimes the soft reboot will occur before the welcome screen.
Sometimes the soft reboot will occur after the welcome screen and before the Main media menu.
Sometimes the soft reboot will occur before POST has concluded.
The soft reboot can occurr even if one is interrogating the BIOS.

This soft rebooting can be continue until one gets into the Media software menu system and terminates the EPG and deletes pending recordings. The latter is not a confirmed action to date.

After the EPG has been cancelled the system works without any problem.

Has anybody had this or similar experience???????????
