Yes, of course, something like this:

extractelement=from=description,to=subtitle,positi on=300,start="wathever"

If you have any word in your description or title with the category, you can extract it with like before

extractelement=from=description,to=category,positi on=300,start=[movie],[series],[kids]...,end="wathever"
or
extractelement=from=title,to=category,position=300 ,start=[movie],[series],[kids]...,end="wathever"

I think this is a big "OF TOPIC", if you need more help, please open a post and i will help you. I have two years of "hard work" with tvxb, a great program.

Regards

Hi again Niall,

I've found something extange with the guide. Not sure if this is a bug from BSETOOL or from Windows 7.

If i try to search in MCE's EPG using TV>Search>Title or Keyword, i get just a few results. I've tried writing "P" and just 5 results with 185 channels and 14 days of EPG (really poor result). I was searching for "Pushing Dayses" in order to record series and i get no results, but the series is in my EPG (10 episodes) but they doesn't appear in the searching.

If i look for this in categories, it appear.

Anyone have this problem?

Regards

I have seen this as well I saw Doctor Who was on (old series) so I did a search to see if the New series was also on and it found none although I also could see it in the EPG.

Same here - Searching in the guide does not work so good. I will try and nail down the channels that do and dont search.

Something strange:

In MCE settings/tv/guide/edit channels/select channel/settings for <selected channel>: There should be a button 'disable Inband' (according to the BSETool v01 manual)
But there is no such button!?

I think for that reason the 'toggle Ignore Inband Schedules' in bsetoolv02 doesn't do anything. I still get the EIT epg if I set it to ignore all EIT .
But if I set the channel to the MXF data it works fine, so no serious problem, just strange!

Anything else, just fantastic , thanks Niall !!!

Hi -
The searching seems(?) to be ok to me (apart from actors/directors which I think has some issues still?) - but I will definitely check again and see if I can reproduce your errors.

** I've got a sneaking suspician that if the program doesnt have any matching genres at all (or none are supplied) - it doesn't put it in any genre at all (and then it may not appear in the search results).. I will double check for this scenario... **

Hi -

Just to better clarify - the 'Ignore Inband' setting (in MCE) stops it from applying new EIT data to that channel - but doesn't remove whats currently there (so you will see the EIT data until you apply a channel listing from BSE). This setting also prevents the channel from applying the now/next information from EIT when you are watching it.

However - if you apply a channel listing from an MXF/BSE import - and it still shows the EIT data - then you are likely hitting on that known bug in MCE (just on that particular channel).

Hope that helps -

Niall

re: Big Screen EPG (0.1 beta) - Discussion/Support thread. (Closed)

Hi -

I sent invites to another batch of people (apologies if you were waiting a long time).

Also - v0.3 will be out next couple of days - and there's some exciting new improvements being added :-

- Will work with the updated IceTV series/program ID matching (and will be implemented for other providers too) - so 7MC will be able to determine what programs are duplicated/repeated accross different channels (and it will more accurately determine what shows are part of series). Currently 0.2 just uses the same basic name matching that you get with EIT data.

- Intelligent Series Matching / Enhancement - uses a built in database of series which contain star ratings, artwork, genres and other metadata for each series. This metadata can then be automatically applied to your program schedule - so this means you get star ratings for your matched series, imagery for series - and it also can apply genres to the programs themselves (very usefull if you are not getting any genres in your xmltv - or its very basic like what you get with EIT).

- Series Management : Allows you to edit a matched/unmatched series db - where you can put in your own custom series imagery, descriptions, ratings and more. This data then gets applied to your series info (and matching programs) that gets imported to 7MC.

- Enhanced channel logo management - I know a lot of people are having problems directly entering the paths (and I think 99% of issues with logos are because of this) - so I will add in a better way to choose/view logos to help with this.

I'll post out an update email when it's ready to go.

Niall

Hi Niall,

Got around to giving this a run today, after getting epgstream.net with oztivo all setup on my windows 7 box.

When I first applied and upload the guide into MCE, ehshell would crash when I tried to open the guide or watch live tv. Reboot didn't fix it either, so I went and deleted all scanned channels, and did a complete rescan.

Rescan came back with 24 channels as usual for here in Canberra, however when I then went to the guide, I only had one channel appearing, ABC1. So, I went back into channel setup and did a restore defaults.

Was then having trouble getting the ABC1 guide data to stick, but after several more iterations of removing all channels, reseting guide, it's all come good. All guide listings look good and it's nice having the station logos too.

Keen to run this for a few days and see if it helps any of the screwy recordings I've been seeing. Not sure if these are related to guide dynamic updates, driver issues with my A16A tuners, or something else completely.

So, in summary, after a bit of fiddling, it's working great so far, thanks!! I will post more after a few days of testing.

I can also confirm some weirdness in the searching... for example I searched for good, and didn't get a match for "good game". When I look in my guide, it's there for 11pm Friday night on ABC1.

Hi -

Its best to have a seperate category for each unique name - so your second example is good. I don't currently try and p**** the '/' - as there is some categories that use it in the title.
