Zensonic Z800 Speakers and Z1080 Amp ?

Hi guys almost go my HTPC working the way I want only gotta get it to put itself into standby but thats another thread!

What I want to know is I have been given the ok to upgrade my crappy amp and 5.1 system by the Minister for war and finance (WIFE) and I been looking at the Zensonic Z1080 amp and the Z800 5.1 speakers.

I don't have a hell of a lot to spend at this point and I have read a couple of reviews on these and they seem to rate pretty good.

So I was wondering do any of you knowledgable chaps know what these are like or have any suggestions of what to get instead?

P.S - Thought I would also mention that I am glad this site is around as I would probably still be trying to get my HTPC going so thanks for the help over the past couple of months.

Hmm no one heard of this Amp and speakers?

Oh well I guess I will just buy them and see how I go, the couple of reviews I have read have been positive for a package that will cost me about $1500.

When I get em I will let you know

I think the speakers are ok (besides the look of them) and probably are good value for the price but I wouldnt buy the amp.

For around the same price you could get a Denon 1905 which would be better value for money.

Hi Deang and thanks for the feedback. No probs I'll have a look at the Denon Amp but what is wrong with the Zensonic specifically?

The Zensonic is probably ok but for the same money you get more optical inputs, more component inputs, a way better remote control, and a much heavier unit I think. The Denon just looks as if its made better. The equivalent Yamaha would probably be as good as the Denon as well.
