Alutek 7620 HTPC System

alu12.jpgPreviously I reviewed the Alutek ALU-7620 case on its own, this time the guys at AusPC-Market let me have a play with their complete HTPC solution built around the same case. Picking up the system turned out to be a bit of a rush job, and since nothing about the case is different, I won't talk about it or the packaging this time around. I should also mention that this was a "demo" unit, so not all the parts were as specified by AusPC-Market for this model and there was no keyboard supplied. Thumbs up Re: Alutek 7620 HTPC System

Nice write up ExtremePC. However, (sorry 'bout that ) you mentioned that AusPC would put different kit in the system but haven't mentioned, and the pics don't tell the full story on expandability and room in the case (Although this is covered in your other review, it might make a quick mention here).

I know this is a very budget starting point (based on a few component choices, such as Power Supply and controll devices) for a HTPC, but this is the point, if you want to expand it by spending later with X more HDDs or a HDDVD/BluRay drive is this possible? Quiteness is also a big thing with HTPC, how did you find the noise from the system/DVD Drive?
