Cmedia CMI9880/Asus P5GD2 Audio

Hi all, long time no speak.

Finally escaped the orifice long enough to play with MCE again and thought I'd give Vista a try. Yet again the on board CMI9880 sound on my Asus P5GD2 mobo has bitten me on the backside. Has anyone got the bloody thing working with Vista?

The default microsoft HD driver doesn't start (error 10) and I can't seem to find anything else.

Re: Cmedia CMI9880/Asus P5GD2 Audio

I think I may have cracked it. I found this driver on a Korean (I think) web site, title is UDAX009-AZA10-Logo09.59.73-flexbass.zip but in the mass confusion I've been suffering I didn't copy the link properly and I can't find it in the history on this bloody Mac (yes, I am trying my best to learn how to use a Mac, and failing!)

I ran it using the compatibility wizard and it seems to be OK. Now to brave Media Centre Setup

Re: Cmedia CMI9880/Asus P5GD2 Audio

Bugger!!

As soon as I hit test speakers in media center setup, the sound dissappeared and I can't get it back.

All suggestions gratefully received......
