Vista and Terratec Cinergy 2400 PCIe

I have installed a Cinergy 24000 PCIe and the hardware is really good. I use this in a WindowsXP Pro environment. The PowerCinema 4 and Terratec Theatre that was supplied is not bad but not really that crash hot (no pun intended) either. I have tried a couple of other third party software programs but success is limited.

What I want is something that works as well as a dedicated PVR (maybe this is a profanity in this forum but I have recently aquired a Strong 5490 PVR).

I would like to hear about other's experience with Vista and the Terratec 2400. If I were to upgrade to Vista, would it give what I want to achieve?

Thanks.

Re: Vista and Terratec Cinergy 2400 PCIe

Hi mate,

i have a cinergy 2400i Pci-Express running on vista rc2.no dramas so far and everything is pretty good.interface is really flash and really caters for the full pvr experience.also its got very useful apps such as the likes of windows dvd maker.with the vista official release just around the corner definitely give it a go is my advise.

Thumbs up Re: Vista and Terratec Cinergy 2400 PCIe

I agree with MERAG, just upgraded my mediapc replaced the hauppage tuner with a terratec cinergy 2400 PCIe installed Vista RC2 and now media centre is running great. Give it a go you will be pleased with the results.

Two thumbs up here.... A lot more stable than MCE.... I also found it actually uses LESS resources than my MCE box.... And if you ever want to extend it to a XBOX 360 then Vista is also a step ahead...

Re: Vista and Terratec Cinergy 2400 PCIe

Has anyone got 2 x Terratec Cinergy 2400's working together? I can't seem to scan channels when both cards are installed but it works fine when only one is installed?

Re: Vista and Terratec Cinergy 2400 PCIe

Many thanks for the prompt responses. This gives great joy and justifies the early adoption of Vista onto my HTPC.

I presume you were all using the Terratec XP drivers in Vista, since I am not aware of any Vista specific drivers being released.

Cheers, David

Re: Vista and Terratec Cinergy 2400 PCIe

G'day David,

I used the beta Terratec Vista drivers from here:
http://supporten.terratec.net/module...wnload&sid=499

Did not install any other Terratec software at all.

Regards,
rogo

Re: Vista and Terratec Cinergy 2400 PCIe

I had to install the Home Cinema software, otherwise I didn't get Win SD or HD. Installed it and get all channels fine, now just working through a few guide options etc
