Unhappy NVidia FX 5200 TV OUT bad

Hi All,

I have just installed the Vista RTM and I cannot get the TV to properly disply Vista.... The tv shows the background, start bar, etc, but it is extremely blurry and in black and white. I am using the Svideo out on the card to a Panasonic Flat screen CRT. I had the same problem in XP, but once I installed the drivers you could configure the monitor as a TV but Vista won't let you do that. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers - S

Question Re: NVidia FX 5200 TV OUT bad

OK I have another update on the details of this problem....

I found a post at thegreen button - http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/136140.aspx which is referring to the exact problem that I am having.....
I did load the latest NVidia drivers and the Nvidia Control Panel does have TV settings there however if I try to configure it there still no success....

cheers - S

Exclamation Re: NVidia FX 5200 TV OUT bad

Just thought I'd provide more info.... One thing I have noticed is that VISTA shows the TV as a "NON-PNP Generic Monitor' whereas XP shows this as 'Generic Television' I have tried to get it to detect the TV btut it never finds a different driver. I have a feeling that if I can get it to show it as a TV that I would be fine. Any pointers?

Re: NVidia FX 5200 TV OUT bad

This sort of issue with svideo, has been resolved for me in the past with a quick cable check. Might be worthwhile, if the whole signal doesn't get through the output is B&W.

Also if your card is outputting an NTSC signal to a PAL display it can result in B&W output also. So check your refresh rate.

Go here

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...p?showforum=68

Install the 97.27 drivers. YOu may need the modified .inf file for it to recognise your card. This version has the TV section enabled in the NVIDIA control panel.
