Which 6600GT Drivers???

Anybody have any idea which are the best drivers to use within Vista for a 6600GT card??

I am trialling both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Vista.

Should I be using the Vista drivers exclusively or will the XP drivers specifically for MCE work??

I think I will use the 64 bit for that particular install but just wondered what had been successful for others.

Cheers

Re: Which 6600GT Drivers???

The XP ones should work fine - just go Device Manager and install them like that by update drivers. I haven't actually used it yet but my 9250 works this way - don't run the setup.exe file from the CD as this will cause problems and conflict.

The less you do with Vista the better it runs. The Vista ones I got were crap and they didn't work...they made it worse.

Re: Which 6600GT Drivers???

You'll quickly learn you cant watch TV with the drivers. 2FPS per second. You can count it ;-)

Just install the RC1 Vista drivers, RC2 have problems. Or read the many forum posts on the topic...

I have heard that the Nvidia RTM Vista drivers are right around the corner ala anytime in the next 10 days.

Re: Which 6600GT Drivers???

Oh I thought that just using XP Drivers worked. I used XP drivers as I said (which the card isn't even supported and has no advanced features like PS2.0, DX9 support etc).

Re: Which 6600GT Drivers???

Thanks for the info guys.

I think I might wait until the RTM drivers are released. I still have my old MCE image and so am tinkering with Vista.

Re: Which 6600GT Drivers???

I found the Vista RTM drivers had several problems with my 6600GT, I uninstalled them and instead installed the 96.33 version (these were the RC1 versions)

Since installing these it's been troublefree.
