RC2 BSOD Problems

HI All,

I am desperate to find a sollution to the following: I have just upgraded to RC2 and ever since have had constant BSOD errors. RC1 worked almost perfectly, however my Realtek HD audio did cause the occasional BSOD as it did with XP MCE.

Important to note, when the newest Realtek driver came out on auto update for RC1 my system would BSOD during the insallation, so I chose not to install it eventually. With RC2 I have tried uninstalling the new Realtek driver and replaced it with the old ones, but I am still having major issues.

Someone please help, my WAF is non existant with RC2, she loved RC1 !!

Re: RC2 BSOD Problems

Have you tried the latest beta driver from the Realtek site?

I had good success with it.

A couple things I had to do:
1. Remove soundman from the startup (msconfig)
2. Remove control panel extension from the system32 folder (alcsndman.cpl - or something similar)
3. Install the software first. Then uninstall and reinstall the driver seperately.

Re: RC2 BSOD Problems

why not go back to rc1, if it is causing you probs then don't bother with it. i noticed 5728 had heaps and heaps of problems, more than rc1 did.
