RC2 ATi Drivers?

Well the RC1 drivers caused me some greif in a few games, and whilst the default Microsoft driver works ok, I would like to get back into customisation with the CCC.
So has anyone heard anything about a new ATi driver?

Re: RC2 ATi Drivers?

What problems are you having with the ATI drivers?

I've got a Dell Laptop with an 1400 ATI Video card and if I install the ATI beta drivers I can't resume from standby and every 3rd-4th boot fails.

In both cases the PC boots up but the screen never loads the desktop.

Is that what you're getting?

I've stuck with the MS Driver and so far it seems to be work fine except I can't use dual screens.

Re: RC2 ATi Drivers?

I actually don't bother with standby as I find my wireless network card doesn't start back up after a resume. So I am not sure if that issue would happen on my PC.
I am having issues with games flickering and missing objects in games and so on.

If you can't load the screen press Ctrl+Alt+Del and that should help you get onto the Desktop. Then Ctrl+Alt+Del again and click File > Run > explorer.exe. That's what I do sometimes and it works.

I've tried CTRL-ALT-DELETE but it doesn't respond. Someone on another forum suggested changing the brightness using the fn key but that didn't work either.

I'm not 100% sure if it was a serious suggestion or just a test to see if i'm gullible

Probably a gullible test.

Re: RC2 ATi Drivers?

From ATI.
Please Note:
This driver release is not meant to be installed on Windows Vista RC2. The in the box RC2 drivers are more current than the ones posted for RC1. We will be posting a RC2 driver shortly.
