Help! Winfast DTV1000 + Vista RC1
Can anyone help me get my system working?
I have two Winfast DTV1000t tuners and I can't get them to work in Vista RC1.
However:
I had the tuners running fine in XPMCE2005 - then installed Vista RC1 as an 'upgrade' and the tuners worked with no problems.
I have upgraded my other hardware this weekend and now the tuners don't work. I installed Vista from scratch - tuners were not detected and would give me a BSOD when I tried to manually install the drivers.
I then did a clean install of XXMCE2005 to make sure the tuners worked - and they worked with no problems. So I then did an 'upgrade' of Vista again (since it worked before on the old hardware) and still Vista won't even detect the cards are there.
I have tried removing one of the cards, but that changed nothing.
I've tried the latest drivers (incl beta drivers, the ones that came with the card, the official site and that site that tw1965 dude puts all the latest drivers/software on).
It always crashes on installing the transport stream capture part of the drivers (wfcxtcap.sys is the file in the BSOD).
I've looked through the threads already on here but none have anything I haven't tried.
Since the cards are compatible with the hardware (they ran in XPMCE) and compatible with Vista (they ran in the previous install) what could be the problem?
My friend is running the same CPU (different motherboard) and has the same tuners working fine in Vista RC1.
My hardware is:
ASUS P5VDCMX motherboard with Pentium D 2.66ghz (I upgraded the MB BIOS but that didn't fix the problem)
1GB RAM
nVidia 6600 256MB
Netgear Wireless USB adaptor
Vista RC1
Everything else runs perfectly in Vista.
