Question Net limiting Software

I live in a house with a few computers and use Netlimiter 1.3 or 2 on the XP computers to allow everyone a good surfing experience, however with Vista netlimiter does not work it causes errors and the net wont work or if u let windows repair the file that is modified by netlimiter then net limiter itself wont work.

I am considering running a linux gateway to divy up the bandwidth between the IP address, my Modem has a QOS setting and it works with general IE downloading but when I am running Bittorrent or FTP server it will do full speed (1.5mbit) and other computers are crawling...

Is there an easier way?

*EDIT*
Latest netlimiter 2.0.9 has vista support problem solved at least I thought
when I actually try to set a limit it says access denied

Re: Net limiting Software

Netlimiter sounds like the way to go (without spending mega $$$$ on a hardware solution).

My advice would be to report your findings to both MS and the Netlimiter people.
Remember, Vista is pre-release. Both MS and other venders are relying on people testing software and reporting their findings.

I know this isn't the answer you were looking for. Unfortunately these problems will continue to occur until software is re-written to support vista.
