Angry Signal nonexistent

Hi I am now running MCE2005 up from MCE2004. Thanks to everyone who has helped solve my problems with MCE, I really appreciate it...

Anyway, my problem is that I wasn't sure which thread this one should go in but I'm living in the north of Adelaide (Playford-Elizabeth area) and after installing RU2 I can get all channel seven (HD/SD/analogue/guide and three extra digitals) plus Channel 9 HD/SD but there doesn't seem to be any existence of channel ten, SBS, ABC2 or ABC. I wasn't able to get anything before RU2 before except all channel 7.

I have scanned numerous times for them and I can pick them up in the actual PVR software yet they have no signal so they should at least show up in MCE2005, right? The funny thing is I have an analogue signal for my TV with SBS/ABC/7/9/10 which works perfectly and my set top box out in the lounge room (a good 25 metres away) can get every channel perfectly on analogue and digital!

Also, I have read in other forums that Channel 9 has an EPG guide now online. Has anyone seen or even used it? Many thanks guys for your help as I really want Channel Ten and the SBS EPG so I can listen to some nice relaxing music.

Re: Signal nonexistent

Hi,

Have you done all Updates...Critical & Custom..even after RU2?
If so, I'd do a quick check on scan channels BDA to check you signal strength. MCE seems to be picky on the strength.

Re: Signal nonexistent

Should I download and install all the updates from the DigitalWatch directory or should I only install a few?

Many thanks Lester.

Re: Signal nonexistent

How do I use the ones with .cpp extensions in them or do I have to compile them via C or something like that? I can use the .exe ones which I'll try later tonight.

Cheers mate.

Re: Signal nonexistent

Hi,

As far as I remember, all you need to do is download the 2.0.0.7 zip and run the exe file. You may only need to type in the frequency of the channel to be scanned.

DVB Owners

Check above link for info.

Re: Signal nonexistent

Right because I downloaded them all and then installed each one. Then I lost MCE channels - I then uninstall the software, reinstall the drivers and bang! MCE gets only seven and nine again like I said above. No Ten/ABC/SBS exist, according to my PVR software or MCE.
