I have had issues trying to convert some DivX's with 5.1 AC3 using the same method, TMPGenc just can't see the AC3 sound. I had to convert them to VOB files first so that it looked like a DVD, then I could convert it to WMV+WMAPro 5.1 successfully. Unfortunately that meant the video was recoded twice (DivX->MPEG2->WMV).
However that was with an older version of TMPGenc Xpress, I wonder if version 4 would convert a DivX+AC3 correctly?

Glad the guide worked for you!
Yeah - with AVI's (xvid or divx) with AC3 TMPGEnc can't pull the AC3 out itself. to do this, you can use VirtualDubMod (free program - do a search via google) to extract the raw AC3 file (*.ac3), then when you choose the AVI file to input it will list that AVI for both Video and Audio - you can then tell TMPGEnc to load the AC3 you extracted as the audio and it will encode fine.
